When designing my battleship I hit a build limit so I made the hull of my battleship hollow. This allowed me to make a bigger ship, however I wanted to know, in making the ship hollow would I have caused any undesirable affects?
Also, is there anyway you can increase the build limit of a ship? I only have a medium sized ship but have already reached the 96% mark.
One more question. In order to defeat the first aircraft carrier level how many AA guns are recommended? I have 4 at the moment and they don't seem to be doing anything at all. I know I probably need a lot more than 4 but how many specifically would comfortably fight off a bunch of aircraft?
Thanks in advance.

Quick note about the build limit: the cap is 1000 blocks. If you are using 1x1x1 blocks, you will have a smaller ship for the amount of blocks used. Making your ship hollow will have several undesirable side-effects: poor stability and less toughness, as well as easily capsizing if you are hit on the side(kinda links w/ stability) Overall it's best to keep your ships filled. For AC lv1, 4 is fine. AA guns aren't perfect, even with 20 you aren't guaranteed to shoot down every last one of the planes. As long as you are fast and kill the Enterprise quickly, the planes won't give you too much of a problem. As long as you have a good armor rating and high toughness, you don't need a single AA gun.

It is unless you put weapons and stuff, the destroyer main mast cost about 7% at start, the if you place more, it will increas for me, the second time i placed it down it costed about 13%

I have no idea what you are saying^. The cap is 1000 blocks, no more, no less.

I have no idea what you are saying^. The cap is 1000 blocks, no more, no less. when you put distroyer main masts the build cap becomes smaller by maybe, 5 blocks the first time, second time placing maybe lose another 10 blocks off the build cap ill make a video on my channel: captainmcderpington

Just biuild a platform with 9x6 large hull222 so you are at 5%. Use 1 destroyer mast an you are at 19%, with a second you are at 37% and with 5 you are at 90% and can't add anymore masts. Same with cranes: the first doesn't seem to uße multiple parts but from the second its about 4% for each. Same with turbines. But the part seem somehow to interact with each other, so the real usage on a ship is not really predictible. Just have an eye on it while customizing.

What he's saying is true, sometimes weapons will take up more space than they should, and I think the game is registering them wrong or is accounting the weight your ship can handle.

Yeah, I tried that and yep it works. idk I don't really have an explanation.

I think it has something to do with what your ship can handle. Since I tested it out. If you have say 10 boilers on a small ship, it would take up a lot of percentage to account for the size of the ship. If it was a super warship, 10 boilers should only move the percentage bar by one or two percent.

A hollowed out hull is less armored and stable but is faster and accelerates quicker. Adding side hulls will cancel out poor stability adding boilers will make you faster and harder to hit. Try to keep the side hulls armored as if the enemy hit the your ship will tilt easily. It's all comes down to play style if you like a small hit and run hollow out your ship, if you like a slow juggernaut fill your hull up.
